What is US investment immigration?

US investment immigration EB-5 is a program issued by the US government to call for foreign investment to develop the US economy. Specifically, investors invest in an economic development project or job in the designated areas of the US. In return, the investor will receive a US Green Card, thereby enjoying social benefits, educational environment, modern health care like Americans.

How much does US investment immigration cost?

With the EB-5 program, investors need to prepare about 23 billion VND, including 4 main items:

• Minimum investment of 800,000 USD
• Government fees
• Lawyer fee for handling the application
• Service fee of the immigration consulting company

After about 5 years of investment, when you apply for a permanent green card, the investment of 800,000 USD (~ about 19 billion VND) will be refunded to the investor. Therefore, the total actual cost that investors have to spend to get a US green card is only about 4 billion VND for the entire 5-year journey.

Time to receive the green card

US Immigration through Investment: E-2, L1, EB-2.NIW

The US immigration program E-2 visa is a non-immigrant visa for entrepreneurs from countries that have an E-2 Trade Treaty with the US. This is a US residency visa that allows investors to do business in the US and allows children to enjoy US education in the shortest time. The benefits of the program are that the investor, along with their spouse and children under 21, can freely work, do business and study in the US within the visa period. The investment amount depends on the type of business, but should be from $100,000 – $150,000. The visa duration is 6 months.

The US immigration program L1 visa is for entrepreneurs managing subsidiaries, working, and allowing children to enjoy US education. The benefits of the program are that the whole family is free to live, study and work in the US within the visa period. After a minimum of 1 year of doing business in the US, the investor can apply for a US EB-1C immigration visa and then apply for US citizenship. Investment amount: The investment amount depends on the type of business. The visa duration is 3 months.

The US immigration program EB-2.NIW is for individuals holding a Master’s, Doctorate or equivalent degree, or individuals with special abilities, in labor shortage occupations, hard to find candidates within the US. The conditions of the program are that the applicant must have a master’s, doctorate or university degree with 5 years of work experience in the correct field of study; and need an employer to sponsor the job. The benefits of the program are that the person granted the EB2-NIW visa can live anywhere in the US. Can freely apply for jobs, study or do business in the US. Spouses and children under 21 accompanying the applicant will be granted a Green Card and are free to study, work, do business in the US. Visa duration: 7 – 18 months.

In general, the US investment immigration programs E-2, L1 and EB2-NIW have simple requirements but require candidates to have a lot of business management experience, or must be individuals with special abilities, extremely excellent. Therefore, these programs are only for a few individuals who meet the conditions. Meanwhile, EB-5 is a more popular green card program, when requiring brothers and sisters to have finances from $800,000 and do not require age, experience, education level.
