02Frequently Asked Questions About Saskatchewan Immigration
Do I need to write my own business plan and operate the business?
- JA & Partners, along with our legal team, will assist investors in creating a business plan. However, regarding operations, investors must manage the business themselves to meet the requirements for permanent residency.
- The business plan will be developed concurrently with the assessment phase, once the investor meets the immigration score requirements set by the province of Saskatchewan. JA & Partners will advise and support investors in choosing the most suitable business model to apply for work permits for the entire family.
- JA & Partners cannot assist applicants in operating the business directly. According to regulations, investors must directly manage operations to qualify for permanent residency. Investors need not worry excessively; JA & Partners and our Canadian partners will always provide necessary information and guidance to help applicants meet the requirements for permanent residency.
How long is the Canadian work permit valid?
- The standard validity period for a work permit is 2 years.
- In some cases, it may be shorter, such as 18 or 12 months. However, for investment immigration purposes, the maximum duration is typically 2 years.
Can investors extend their work permit? What are the conditions for extension?
- Investors can easily extend their work permit. The conditions include demonstrating ongoing business activities, job creation for Canadian citizens or permanent residents (depending on the province), and compliance with tax requirements.
