ABOUT GRENADA
Grenada is an island located 161 km off the coast of Venezuela; St. Catherine’s peak (840 m) is part of the mountain range that traverses this island. The valleys nestled between the mountain ranges are very impressive, and the land is fertile with many small streams flowing tightly. The island also boasts numerous hot springs, many mountain lakes, and stunning beaches. Grenada has a tropical climate, with an average rainfall of 1,524 mm along the coast.
The national economy is based on agriculture, fishing, and tourism. Tourism is the main economic sector of Grenada. Beautiful beaches and underwater sports are primarily concentrated in the southwest area around St. George’s, the coastal regions; however, ecotourism is also developing.
